Tomorrow is Election Day. Here. In Sri Lanka. For the first time in a decade, the incumbent is facing an opposition he has to reckon with. The opposition is more organised. The fight, therefore, will be tough. All the way. It is still too early to predict and to champion, too early to back and to jeer at. But we know one thing. At the end of the day, it will be us who will throw or keep.
Tomorrow is our day. The day we exercise a right. Some of us will vote for the underdog. Others will vote for the victor. Right now, I'm not sure who's who. But this is not a day for us to abstain. It's not a day for middle paths and conscientious objection. It's a day for you. Make use of it.
Go out. To the nearest polling station. Cast your vote. Kick out or keep. At the end of the day, your vote will matter. Big time. Don't desist. Don't stay at home. Because this isn't 2005. This isn't 2010. This is 2015. It's as simple as that.
හෙට මැතිවරණ දිනය වේ. දශකයක් පසු වී හමාරයි. පළමු වරට, බලයේ සිටින නායකයා විපක්ෂයේ අබියෝගයට මුහුන දී සිටී. විපක්ෂයේ තවත් සන්ධානයක් ඔහුට එරෙහිව ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇත. සටන එබැවින් දැඩි වී ඇත. සියලු ආකාරයෙන්. කවුරු දිනයි ද පැරදෙයි ද කියල කියන්න බැරිය. නමුත් අපි එක දෙයක් දන්නවා. දවස අවසානයේදී, අපි තීරකයෝ වෙයි.
හෙට අපේ දවස ය. ඡන්ද බලය අපේ අයිතිවාසිකමක් ය. සමහර අය පරාජිතයාට චන්දය දෙයි. තවත් සමහරු ජයග්‍රාහකයාට ඡන්දය දෙයි. කවුද පරාජිතයා කවුද ජයග්‍රාහකයා කියල කියන්න මට විශ්වාසයක් නැත. එහෙත් මේ අපට වැළකී සිටින්න සඳහා වෙන් කරපු දිනයක් නොවේ. එය මධ්‍යම මාර්ගයේ සිටින්න සඳහා වෙන් කරපු දිනයක් නොවේ. එය ඔබ වෙනුවෙන් වෙන් කරපු දිනයක්. එය භාවිතා කරන්න.
එළියට යන්න. ළඟම ඇති ඡන්ද ස්ථානයට යන්න. ඔබගේ ඡන්දය දක්වන්න. දවස අවසානයේදී, ඔබේ ඡන්දය වැඩක් වනු ඇත. මෙය 2005 හෝ 2010 නොවේ. මෙය 2015 යි. හිතන්න. ඔබට අයත් ඡන්ද බලය පාවිච්චි කරන්න. එයයි අපේ ප්‍රාර්ථනාව. එයයි අපේ විශ්වාසය.
